Gulf Coast Limestone has always unloaded our own trains using a unique process & devices engineered to allow unloading equipment to operate on top of the open top rail cars. Special ramps & open buckets were designed by our Operations Manager and VP, Bobby Walker, to allow the operators to maneuver properly & efficiently & unload material directly into trucks that would then haul the material to a specific job site. GCLI unloads approx. 100,000 rail cars per year. * A train normally consists of 95 rail cars and each car can be unloaded in approx. 12 minutes for a turn around time of 10 hours per train.
